Pink for a Purpose: Grassroots Is Raising Money for Breast Cancer Research
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this year, the team at Grassroots Salon & Spa in Layton, Utah is coming together for a little friendly competition with a much bigger purpose: raising money for breast cancer research.
Throughout the month, our team members and providers are competing to see who can raise the most money—and we’re inviting our guests to get involved, too.
Our Team Is Putting Their Money Behind the Cause
If you notice your favorite Grassroots team member wearing jeans in the salon this October, there’s a reason!
Each time a team member chooses to wear jeans, they are making a $10 donation toward breast cancer research.
It’s a simple way for our team to participate throughout the month, contribute personally to the fundraiser, and keep breast cancer awareness at the forefront of what we’re doing.
And because everything is a little more fun with some friendly competition, we’re keeping track of how much each provider raises throughout October.
Help Your Provider Climb the Leaderboard
Our guests can join the Grassroots fundraising challenge by making a donation at the front desk during checkout.
When you donate, you can choose the provider you’d like your contribution added to. Your donation will count toward their fundraising total and help them move up our Pink for a Purpose leaderboard.
Whether you donate $1, $5, $10 or more, every contribution adds to what we can accomplish together.
The competition might give us an excuse to have a little fun, but the ultimate goal is much bigger than who finishes at the top of the leaderboard. We want to use our salon community to raise as much as possible for breast cancer research.

Grassroots has always been about more than hair, skin, nails and beauty. We believe in creating meaningful connections with the people who walk through our doors and finding ways to support the community around us.
Breast cancer has touched the lives of countless individuals and families, including people within our own communities here in Layton and Davis County, Utah. Breast Cancer Awareness Month gives us an opportunity to come together, raise awareness and contribute to research that continues to improve our understanding, detection and treatment of breast cancer.
We’re proud that our team is participating with their own donations, and we would love for our guests to join us.
